This time we remember Knut as a messanger of love and friendship. The little polar bear succeeded where the world leaders fail – uniting people throughout the world! We live under the same sun, the same moon, the same stars – and we can be friends despite differencies in race, religion, language or geographical location.
What a wonderful planet the earth would be without all the greedy and power-hungry leaders. Why do people elect them – that’s a mystery for me!
John Lennon wrote a wonderful song so I let him continue.

The beautiful true fairy tale had a tragic ending but we will always cherish the memory of our lovely Knut and his keeper Thomas Dörflein.

The Lennon song is especially fitting as his life was also cut short like Thomas’s and Knut’s. All of them brought people together and made us think about how we all live in the same fragile world.
