17.4.2024 – Photos by Sheila and Philip Baker
We start this photo presentation with some morning gymnastics with Hamish. The big boy is very agile thanks to the exercises.
Does the bird think he’s my personal trainer???
After the exercises Hamish wants to have something to eat.
Oh bear, if only these birds would leave me and my food alone.
I’ve been trying to educate the birdies and teach them good table manners. I’ve told them not to interfere when I’m eating.
Hmm, it looks like the birdies have been good students!
Nobby is looking for his friends …
… and on the other side of the fence Indie and Yuma are looking for Nobby.
No Nobby in sight yet. Well, we must go further. OK, brother – you keep an eye on the left and I keep my eyes on the right side.
Hmm, I think we’re going to opposite directions now.
Luka wants to take a nap …
… but the birds are singing so loud! – Please, notice Luka’s new ‘shoes’. 🙂
Finally he found a good hiding place and booked a ticket to the Napland.
Sisu is a very innovative polar bear guy …
… so he decided to help his friends to keep the birds away – at least when his fellow bears want to eat and nap in peace. I’m sure his version of a scarecrow will keep even the biggest and most annoying birds away! 🙂
Thank you very much dear Mervi, Sheila and Philip.
Best wishes to Luka, Hamish, Nobby and Sisu.
Sisu is really huge and it’s very nice of him to help his friends.
As a small bird, I wouldn’t dare go near him in the future.
Hamish is not only an agile bear, he’s also a handsome bear. Our bears in Munich are also familiar with the problem of birds.
Nobby is looking for his friends and the two brothers are looking for him and the way they both search for Nobby is adorable. Looking left and right and then forwards and backwards. I hope they have found each other.
Thank you, dear Sheila and Philip, for the marvellous pictures with the hilarious texts.
Hugs,
Anita
Dear Sheila,
dear Philip,
the bears are looking splendid and driving the birds off their food keeps them agile. Still, a bit of extra exercise is very good to get the spring tiredness out of their fur.
Mervi, your comments are great again and describe the activities with a great sense of humour.
Many thanks and best wishes to all three of you!

Tolle Fotos von den immer wieder beeindruckenden Eisbären, die sich augenscheinlich rundum wohlfühlen!😊
Und Mervi ist eine begnadete Gedankenleserin!👌
Dear Sheila, Philip and Mervi!
Thank you for the lovely update on polar bears and birds in Yorkshire! The photos show how well the bears are doing – and that the birds don’t really bother them.
Hamish has become a large and impressive bear, his yoga exercises make him very loveable.
Indie and Yuma on one side of the fence and Nobby on the other, this will probably change when the hormones have calmed down. Until then, the bears have to keep an eye out. Luka has developed quite a bit since his time in Wuppertal.
Sisu is the most amazing and impressive scarecrow imaginable. But the birds will come anyway…
Hugs

Let’s start with the last pic today:
Dear Mervi, you had a most vivacious imagination again, when creating the subtitles full of proof for your good sense of humor/humour.
. . . . . . . “TERVE! dear SISU – you’ve made an excellent job!”
In total: that’s a nice story! with top-‘illustration’, say/in other words: ‘photos’ – thanks to Sheila and Philip Baker!
As you can easily imagine, I like next to best the second photo from above, showing HAMISH doing his exercises.
LUKA hasn’t just get new shoes (très chic!) but also a very winning smile in the photo showing him 🙂
Dear Sheila, Philipp and Mervi!
The bears in YWP Look great. I love the picture of Indie and Yuma mostly.
Hugs
