Banham Zoological Gardens is an award winning 50 acre zoo, situated about 20 miles south-west of Norwich, in Norfolk. The Zoo first opened to the public in 1968 and is now home to over 2,000 mammals, primates, birds, & reptiles. It is part of the Zoological Society of East Anglia and also involved in conservation work.
There are many kinds of birds in this zoo – here you can see three owls.
Spectacled owl
Verreaux’s eagle owl
Snowy owl
The Black Footed Penguin has a nice home.
Asian Short Clawed Otter
There are big cats, too ….
This Snow Leopard was maybe wondering who the photographing visitor was.
OK! You look like a friend so I pose nicely for your camera.
Amur tiger
He/she sure looks like a royalty!
Amur tiger baby
Cheetah
You want to take a photo of me?
Is the light right?
A curious meerkat
Southern pudu
Black headed spider monkey
Banham Zoological Gardens was opened 1968 with a collection of pheasants and parrots by local Norfolk resident Martin Goymour – it was originally called ‘Banham Zoo’.
Spectacular gorgeous animals and photos of them.
The three owls are worth special attention and admiration.
Well chosen ‘animal objects’ and set into great image impression.
Each and any of the animals shown gives the impression to be well cared for. . . . Would it only be able to grant them freedom (unfortunately it’s not posible) . . .
Thanks for sharing photos and information.
Thank you very much dear Mervi and Pat.
Best wishes to all the animals in Banham Zoological Gardens.
Dear Pat!

Dear Pat and Mervi some beautiful birds and cats at Banham thank you.
Dear Pat!
Thank you for introducing us to this zoo, which is still unknown to us. There are some lovely and beautiful animals there too. I like them all: owls, penguins, tigers, snow leopards, otters, cheetahs, meerkats and monkeys among others. The tigers and the snow leopard are particularly beautiful.
Great photos!
Hugs

Dear Pat
This zoo seems really very beautiful. There are many friendly residents there.
I don’t know many animals either; so the first two owls or the southern pudu.
Big cats are always a real eye-catcher for me. And friendly cats probably live here and are happy to pose for the photographer. The Amur is probably the king of the zoo and he looks down majestically from his throne. It’s nice that he gave you an audience.
Thank you for introducing us to this zoo.
Hugs,
Anita
