The struggle of animals is simply about survival. Humans are driven by their own desire for power, insatiable greed coupled with the humiliation of the weaker ones.

Pat, this zoo seems to be a little gem where you can almost chill out with the inhabitants.

Thank you so much for taking us on your tour of Colchester Zoo and introducing us to so many animals. It is beautifully laid out and its inhabitants are obviously comfortable and relaxed. I liked them all and your pictures really set them in scene. I found the orangutan man, the ‘thinker’, the elephant with its trunk in its mouth and the pretty tigers particularly endearing. I also thought it was great that you were able to capture the look on the animals’ faces.
Over the next four years we will need lots of “little escapes” to help us cope with reality in these dark times… Visits to the zoo are just as much a part of this as films, beautiful books, music and lovely people around us.
