What a great pleasure it was to publish your charming article of Crystal, Kallik and Kallu.

I like the boys’ names – they sound very Finnish, too. 🙂

The cubs already show different characteristics but they are both very cute. Crystal is an experienced mother but she’s lucky to have twins who can play together so she can have some time for herself as well.

A polar bear mama nursing her babies is always a wonderful heart warming sight.

Thank you for this beautiful post about the bear cubs in Toledo.
It makes sense that the conservation breeding programme has been adapted to the circumstances now that so many young bears are waiting for a permanent home. What a pity for many of them that the rip cord was not pulled earlier!
Kallik and Kallu are very different in size and character, but both very cute and adorable and, judging by the photos, are probably having the time of their lives with their mother.
I wish Crystal a good recovery and a bright future for her little ones!

there are indeed very few polar bear cubs this year, but given the “overproduction” in recent years, breeding restraint is needed as many cubs, especially in Europe, will not find a new zoo where they can have a permanent home. They will either have to be kept in boy groups or girl groups.

The twins are wonderful to watch and like siblings, each has their own character.

Flocke also liked to sit and watch the cubs from a distance and had set feeding times. Kallik is very much like Tala and his brother like Indy and Yuma.
This is a very special family for the USA and Molly has done them justice in her beautiful report
