OH MY, these girls are soo pretty and most of all, they are sooo WHITE! And whatever their names will be, like all of you, I hope that they will go to a decent zoo when they are old enough.

Yes, that’s right. Bears with the name Nanook or Nanuq really do exist very often.

Ja, da kann man nur hoffen, dass sie gescheite Namen bekommen.
Ansonsten sind die Mädels sehr süß und wissen zum Glück nicht,
in was für einem Land sie leben. Hoffen müssen wir des weiteren,
dass die Cubbies nicht später in einem chinesischen Zoo landen…

Dear Mervi!
The two female polar bear cubs in Novosibirsk are really as sweet as sugar. Like you, I hope that they will be given names that have not yet been given, or have only been given very rarely!
What a shame that they are growing up in a time that is so uncertain and full of problems and worries. Their future is also far from secure and I only hope that after their childhood they can be placed well and lovingly cared for in an acceptable environment and not just disappear!
