Für Eisbären & Pinguine ist das Klima in New Mexico eigentlich zu heiß.
Wann wart ihr denn dort – da habe ich wohl etwas verpasst?!
Ansonsten macht der Zoo einen guten Eindruck. 🙂

Liebe Ludmila, lieber Uwe!
Danke für die tollen Bilder aus einem Zoo, den die meisten von uns sicher nie besuchen können. Dort sieht es heiß aus und ich hoffe, dass sich nicht nur Eisbär Kiska abkühlen kann und die übrigen Tiere genug Schattenplätze finden! Wie schade, dass Kiskas Zwillingsbruder Koluk gestorben ist und er jetzt sein Alter allein verbringen muss.
Auch ich fand den Wombat ausgesprochen knuffig und den kleinen Orang Utan bezaubernd.

I have enjoyed several visits at ABQ Biopark, and it is wonderful. Kiska also has a new adjacent playground that used to be the lions, and now he can go there and roll in the grass when he wants to.

Baby Matilda the Hippo is also a fun resident at ABQ. She is three years old now.

I hope Kiska is not too lonely without his brother. The keepers take very good care of him and keep him busy.

I saw Butan the baby orangutan when he was just born. He is two now, and getting big.

I hope you got to see the Botanical Gardens too, they are wonderful with a miniature train running through miniature towns.

Ludmila, the wombats are cute!
Somehow they are a mix between a small bear and a rabbit, I think.

The cooling offer for the polar bears is great!
I think that all zoos in warm to hot regions that keep polar bears should have such facilities. Marineland in France was a good example of this.
