I will never forget the day when I was really the first time in the Kneipe in Rankestraße in Berlin near the Zoo, it was so special and I asked the waitress, do you know the Knutfriends and she said, ja ja die Knut Leute

As always, when the Knut era is so lovingly and creatively remembered, I get all nostalgic and a bit melancholic. It is simply wonderful how much this special bear, together with his cool keeper, stimulated the imagination and gave rise to so many beautiful stories, collages and, last but not least, friendships and internet forums and blogs.
Thank you so much dear Mervi for keeping alive the memories of this wonderful and special time, this beloved bear and his family, dear people and cherished places!
You always manage to create wonderful head cinema. I can imagine Knut in Thomas Dörflein’s clothes very well. However, his trousers were a bit stretched over his well filled belly…
