28.3.2023 – Photos by V. Ilytjakova, V. Gabova
There are so many wonderful photos of Gerda and her cubbies that I simply must show some of them to you. Accordingly there will be lots of them even in the near future. The kids grow so fast so let’s enjoy their whiteness and fluffiness now!
Mama Gerda is almost as white as her babies.
A heart breaker – but I don’t mind this kind of heart breakers! 🙂
What a sweet pose! Please, notice how nicely he/she keeps the paws crossed.
The enclosure in the Novosibirsk Zoo isn’t optimal but in the Winter season there’s lot of snow that makes it cosier.
This photo could have been taken in the wild ….
Velvet eyes, licorice nose and a cute pink tongue – simply adorable!
Gerda is an experienced mother and knows her babies need not only nourishment but lots of love and closeness as well.
Between Gerda’s big paws a little cubbie feels safe.
Don’t they look happy together!
Of course, the ‘wild things’ have light weight wrestling on their daily schedule. 🙂 The games are also lessons in ‘polarbearism’.
A gentle bite …. or maybe it’s a kiss on the sister’s/brother’s head …. We don’t know yet the gender of the twins.
Look what I found! I wonder if it’s something eatable … although nothing compares to mama’s milk!
There’s so much to explore in the enclosure and the kids are very curious.
Just like all male polar bears Kai isn’t a part of the family life. The ice cold water is a paradise for him so he’s happy just floating. 🙂
Another way to check if the milk bar is open! 🙂
Let’s tickle mama’s ear ….
Now she’s awake and ready to serve us! 🙂
The milk tastes extra good when you’re lying down while eating. 🙂
Happy hour again!
Thank you for watching! We’ll be back soon but we already announce a cuteness warning! 🙂
Nee,was ist das süüüüß!!! 😍 💓
Gerda is a brilliant mum. Thank you for letting us see these pictures.
Dear Mervi!
These two little bears in Novosibirsk are really as sweet as sugar and certainly a joy for the zoo, the keepers and the visitors. Many thanks, of course also to the photographers, for the adorable pictures!
Nevertheless, this joy is not unclouded and I have mixed feelings at the sight of them. I fear the cubs are having the time of their lives and their future is uncertain.
I wish them and their parents only the very best and a good life!
Hugs
Anke
Dear Mervi!

I wish you all a pleasant evening.

Dear Mervi,
as adorable and heartwarming as the mother-child photos are, I, like Anke, have the same thoughts about the future of the twins, because until today we have never heard anything about the previous two….
But at the moment, of course, I am enjoying the family idyll from the bottom of my heart, and besides, we have encouraged you to show us the photos from Novosibirsk.
Kind regards and thanks to the photographers

It’s amazing how this charming polar bear family can convey such a most happy impression in its rather very small/narrow surroundings . . . .
The image that each and any of this family gives is to be really content and happy. . . . . In any case they are a joy to see/watch/observe through the eyes of their photographers and the accompanying loving/excited/funny words of Mervi.
Good luck and thanks to everybody mentioned above plus to all the hopefully broad-minded keepers and visitors of/in the Novosibirsk Zoo.

Oh wie niedlich – ich hatte gehofft,
dass wir Fotos aus Novosibirsk be-
kommen, nachdem man von der Geburt
der Zwillinge gelesen hatte. 🙂
Dieses Alter ist am schönsten,
viel zu schnell wachsen sie…
Danke an die Fototanten/onkel !
