Gerti has visited the Aqua Zoo Friesland in the Netherlands and she had the great pleasure of meeting polar bear Felix there.

Felix was having a snack – it looks like it was of a feathered kind of snack.

Oh bear, now my belly feels well filled!

After the refreshment, the enclosure was rearranged and a small fir tree was dug out to create a cosy place to sleep.

  1. Dear Mervi and Gerti
Thank you for taking us to see Felix and Rocky.
Felix was famous in the old German TV Zoo shows for being a “travelling bear”.It was said he would always go easily into the crate “because he knew a girl Polar would be waiting”.

    Dear Gerti and Mervi!
How nice to hear from Felix again! I hadn’t remembered that he became a father six times. He had to change zoos nine times and I wasn’t the only one who regretted it. Felix looks very good in the latest pictures and I hope that he has finally arrived!
Thank you for this welcome update!

    Hugs
    Anke

    Britta-Gudrun

    Dear Gerti,
I can only join my predecessors in wishing Felix a permanent home in Leeuwarden, after he was very successful as a ‘challenge cup’ in terms of producing youngsters.

If anyone mastered the relocation procedure, it was him and we wish him a cosy retirement!

Many thanks for your detailed report and best wishes
    Britta-Gudrun
